Sourcing & Procurement Project Coordinator (Japanese Skill)

Contract Duration: 6 months contract

Workdays: Mon - Fri (Office Hours)

Location: Ladkrabang, Bangkok

Role Overview

The role will act as a key bridge between the global project team and Japanese client stakeholders, translating analytical findings into actionable cost reduction initiatives and facilitating their execution.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, cost reduction, cost optimization, or supply chain consulting. 

• Business-level English and native/near-native Japanese proficiency (JLPT N2 or above)

• Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, HVAC, or other manufacturing industries is preferred

• Strong experience in supplier negotiation, cost analysis, benchmarking, and procurement cost reduction. 

• Experience in supplier negotiations and/or VA/VE activities

• Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, cost reduction, or supply chain consulting, preferably in manufacturing

• Ability to understand cost structures, supplier quotations, benchmarks, and procurement analyses

• Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills, particularly with Japanese clients/stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and synthesize cost and procurement analyses conducted in English by the India-based project team

• Translate analytical findings into clear business implications and communicate them effectively to Japanese client stakeholders

• Convert cost analysis and benchmarking results into supplier negotiation strategies, including target setting, negotiation logic, and key discussion points

• Facilitate discussions with Procurement and other client stakeholders to develop and execute commercial cost reduction initiatives

• Plan and facilitate VA/VE workshops with Engineering teams to identify cost reduction opportunities through specification changes, design optimization, material changes, and other technical levers

• Coordinate discussions across Procurement, Engineering, suppliers, and the global project team to move identified opportunities toward implementation

• Support the development of concrete action plans, including opportunity sizing, required actions, owners, and next steps
