Job Descriptions

• Permit & License Lifecycle Management: Direct the complete lifecycle of regulatory applications, renewals, and compliance to secure operating licenses efficiently and within required timelines.
• Government & Authority Relations: Cultivate strategic relationships with senior officials and regulatory agencies, acting as the primary liaison to resolve complex regulatory challenges.
• Regulatory Governance & Compliance: Establish compliance monitoring frameworks, audit permit conditions, and drive corrective actions to mitigate legal risk and operational non-compliance.
• Process & Documentation Control: Standardize SOPs and maintain rigorous documentation management systems to ensure operational quality, policy alignment, and constant audit readiness.
• Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with legal, engineering, operations, and safety teams to align regulatory requirements with project budgets, schedules, and workflows.
• Executive Risk & Status Reporting: Deliver strategic updates on permit statuses, regulatory risks, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and steering committees.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and build the capability of the permitting team, driving operational efficiency and continuous regulatory intelligence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Political Science, Arts, or a related field.
• Min. 5 years in regulatory permitting and government agency liaison, preferably within power, energy, infrastructure, or utilities (experience in hydro, gas, or renewables is a distinct advantage).
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong strategic thinking, negotiation capabilities, and a creative, solution-oriented approach to complex challenges.
• Willing and able to travel or work both upcountry and internationally as required.
• Goal-driven, collaborative team player with a flexible mindset and a commitment to continuous learning.
