Our client is a well-established manufacturer within the consumer goods and food industry. The company specializes in the production of ready-to-eat food products,for international customers. The business serves export markets across North America, Europe, Japan, the Middle East, and Asia, supported by modern manufacturing facilities and strong quality standards.

Financial Controller

Reporting Line

  • Report directly to the Managing Director
  • Lead the Finance & Accounting department


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • CPA and/or CPD qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounting within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing costing and financial analysis.
  • Proven experience leading finance and accounting teams.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP implementation or enhancement projects is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience supporting export-oriented businesses and foreign exchange exposure is an advantage.
  • Good command of English communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a hands-on and dynamic business environment.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements and management reports.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide timely analysis to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.

Costing & Manufacturing Finance

  • Lead product costing and inventory valuation processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, cost variances, and operational performance.
  • Partner with operations and production teams to strengthen cost control and improve profitability.
  • Support pricing and margin analysis through financial insights.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Coordinate annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
  • Monitor business performance against budget and financial targets.
  • Provide variance analysis and recommendations to management.

Internal Control & Compliance

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and finance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Review and improve finance and accounting procedures where appropriate.

Business Support & Process Improvement

  • Provide financial guidance to management on operational and commercial matters.
  • Support ERP implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting efficiency and business performance.

Treasury & Foreign Exchange Monitoring

  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and foreign exchange exposure related to export operations.
  • Coordinate with financial institutions on routine banking matters.
