Senior Fullstack Engineer

Client Description:

Our client is a financial services organisation modernising a business-critical investment accounting platform. The project focuses on scalable services that support high-volume accounting workflows, real-time and batch data processing, platform reliability and integration with enterprise data platforms.

The Senior Full-Stack Engineer will combine hands-on Java development with technical leadership and production ownership across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments.

Candidate Profile:

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience building large-scale distributed software systems.
• Strong hands-on Java experience and API-driven backend development.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience designing, testing, deploying and supporting production-grade services.
• Familiarity with cloud or hybrid hosting models.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and automated testing.
• Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions, trade-offs and risks.
• Ability to mentor engineers through design and code reviews.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Financial services, investment accounting, asset servicing or transaction-processing experience.
• Microsoft Azure and on-premises platform experience.
• Oracle, Snowflake or a comparable enterprise data platform.
• Python, TypeScript or Angular.
• Kafka, Spark or other streaming and distributed-system technologies.
• Legacy platform modernisation.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools or AI-enabled applications.

Responsibilities:

• Modernise investment accounting platform capabilities by building scalable services for high-volume accounting and data-processing workflows.
• Build multi-tenant platform capabilities that ingest data in real time and in batch mode.
• Design, build, test, deploy and operate API-driven services, primarily using Java.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases and enterprise data platforms.
• Transform legacy platform capabilities into cloud-ready, API-first services.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, resiliency, auditability and data quality.
• Lead design discussions and contribute to practical architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, delivery planning and production-readiness discussions.
• Own services from implementation through production support and optimisation.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX, operations, architects and globally distributed engineering teams.
• Contribute to automated delivery through CI/CD pipelines, reusable patterns and DevOps practices.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly across the software development lifecycle.
