Technical Services Manager – Brazing

Position Summary
My client in New England is looking for a Technical Services Manager who serves as the primary technical resource for internal teams, customers, and Sales, providing expertise in brazing, nitriding, and FNC processing. This role supports applications engineering, quality improvement, customer complaints, process development, and technical problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Sales with technical expertise and participate in customer visits as needed.
• Develop and establish processing parameters for new and existing jobs.
• Monitor quality performance and lead efforts to resolve technical and process issues.
• Collaborate with Operations and Quality to implement process improvements and permanent corrective actions.
• Support AS9100, NADCAP, and customer requirements through internal audits and compliance activities.
• Prepare FAIRs, initial sample reports, control plans, process specifications, and technical reports.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and follow up on corrective actions.
• Analyze quality and process data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Train employees on SPC, inspection methods, recordkeeping, problem-solving, and brazing/nitriding fundamentals.
• Communicate process changes and customer requirements throughout the organization.
• Provide technical support for new products, prototypes, and customer applications.
• Travel approximately 15–20%.
• Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
• Experience with brazing, nitriding, and FNC processing preferred.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949, AS9100, AS13100, CQI-9, CQI-12, and NADCAP.
• Knowledge of heat-treating principles, surface hardening, diffusion, hardness testing, microstructural analysis, and SPC.
• Lean/Six Sigma Yellow Belt training preferred.
• Strong communication, technical writing, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Plex ERP experience preferred

Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $149,972.00 per year
