Our client in Lawrence has an opening for a System Technician. This would be a hybrid role working in the office and out in the field with clients in the Lawrence and Topeka area. This is a locally owned company with tremendous growth and a great culture!
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Systems Technician. The Systems Technician is responsible for providing technical support, maintaining client IT infrastructure, troubleshooting complex technology issues, and delivering exceptional customer service.
This position works closely with clients and internal teams to support desktops, servers, cloud platforms, networking equipment, cybersecurity solutions, and business applications. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who enjoys working directly with clients and has a passion for technology.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide remote and onsite technical support to clients.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and operating system issues.
- Respond to support requests in accordance with company service level agreements (SLAs).
- Escalate complex issues when appropriate while maintaining ownership of client communication.
- Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and client interactions accurately.
Systems Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows desktops, laptops, and servers.
- Manage Microsoft 365 environments, including user accounts, email, licensing, and security settings.
- Perform system updates, patch management, and routine maintenance.
- Monitor system health and proactively identify potential issues.
- Manage backup solutions and verify successful data recovery processes.
Network & Infrastructure Support
- Support firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and internet connectivity.
- Assist with network installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Cybersecurity
· Manage endpoint protection, email security, MFA, and security awareness initiatives.
Project Work
- Participate in client technology projects including:
- Server deployments
- Microsoft 365 migrations
- Network upgrades
- Cloud migrations
- Hardware refreshes
- New office buildouts and relocations
- Coordinate with project managers and senior engineers to ensure successful project completion.
Client Service
- Build positive relationships with clients through professional communication and exceptional service.
- Educate clients on technology best practices and available solutions.
- Serve as a trusted technology resource and representative of M Cubed Technologies.
- Maintain a customer-first mindset in all interactions.
Qualifications Required
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or managed services.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Experience troubleshooting desktop, server, and network issues.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Experience with:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Active Directory
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Hyper-V or VMware
- Firewalls and VLANs
- Backup and Disaster Recovery platforms
- RMM and PSA tools
- Industry certifications such as:
- CompTIA A+
- Network+
- Security+
- Microsoft Certifications
- Cisco Certifications
