Scientist I Manufacturing Sciences

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a qualified Scientist I – Manufacturing Sciences for a temporary opportunity with our client in Rockford, Illinois.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Location: Fully onsite in Rockford, IL
Pay Rate: $28.00/hr.

Position Overview

The Scientist I – Manufacturing Sciences will provide support for manufacturing process improvement and validation activities, with a primary focus on bead and resin processes, equipment qualification, process validation, and manufacturing capacity improvements.

This position will collaborate with Manufacturing Sciences, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to execute validation activities, analyze results, prepare technical documentation, troubleshoot manufacturing processes, and support implementation of process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of equipment qualification and process validation activities.

• Execute validation studies supporting manufacturing process improvements and capacity expansion.

• Develop and execute validation protocols and experimental plans.

• Perform hands-on laboratory and manufacturing-floor activities.

• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental and manufacturing data.

• Prepare validation protocols, reports, technical summaries, and supporting documentation.

• Partner with Operations and Engineering to troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing process issues.

• Support process characterization, optimization, and continuous improvement activities.

• Assist with implementation of validated processes and equipment into routine manufacturing.

• Ensure documentation complies with applicable SOPs, quality systems, and internal requirements.

• Communicate project status, experimental results, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific/engineering discipline.

• 2+ years of relevant laboratory, manufacturing, process development, or validation experience.

• Experience planning and executing laboratory or manufacturing experiments with limited guidance.

• Strong technical documentation and data analysis skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

• Equipment qualification and/or process validation.

• Manufacturing process improvement.

• Manufacturing equipment implementation.

• Statistical analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, or Design-Expert.

• Validation lifecycle documentation, including protocols, data analysis, and final reports.

• Regulated manufacturing environments and ISO/GMP quality systems.

• Chromatography, bead and resin manufacturing, bioprocessing, or related processes.

• Root cause analysis, process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay Details: $28.00 per hour
