Dock Worker

Adecco is working with a client who is a leader in the 3PL space and is hiring a Dock Worker in Portland, OR. This full-time role is critical to customer service and plays a direct part in meeting customer requirements through the proper, safe, and timely handling of inbound and outbound freight. The position requires careful attention to freight protection, consistent use of proper handling techniques, and maintaining a clean work environment. Candidates should be comfortable with physical work in a dock setting, able to work independently and collaboratively, and prepared to follow company policies, TDG, WHMIS, and customer-specific requirements. This role is best suited for someone with strong time management, organization, and a safety-minded approach to daily work.

What You Will Do?

  • Move and handle large and cumbersome freight in a dock environment, typically weighing up to 75 lbs.

  • Use company-provided mechanical aids, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, lift-assist devices, or team lifts, for freight over 75 lbs.

  • Ensure compliance with TDG, WHMIS, company policies and procedures, and customer-specific requirements at all times.

  • Use proper handling techniques to protect customer freight from damage during all inbound and outbound movements.

  • Maintain a clean work environment while supporting safe and timely freight handling operations.

Your Skills

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. independently and to move heavier freight with team support or mechanical aids.

  • Strong understanding of safe lifting and handling practices in a dock or freight environment.

  • Comfort with physical labor, including bending, crouching, standing, lifting, reaching, stooping, and walking for extended periods.

  • Ability to work in environments with loud noise while remaining focused on safety and accuracy.

  • Willingness and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and variable shift schedules based on business needs.

Pay Details: $21.00 per hour
