About This Role
Our client is a well-established organization in the food manufacturing industry. They are seeking an experienced QA Manager to lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities within a large-scale manufacturing operation.
This role is responsible for ensuring that products, production processes, and employees consistently comply with customer requirements, food safety standards, quality management systems, and applicable regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with production and other cross-functional teams to maintain product quality, strengthen food safety practices, manage audits, and drive continuous improvement across the plant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or a related scientific discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control within a large-scale food manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing both QA and QC operations in a production facility.
- Strong knowledge of food safety systems and standards, including GMP, HACCP, BRC, and SEDEX.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and ISO 22000.
- Experience conducting or supporting audits across the food supply chain.
- Strong leadership, team management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions within the manufacturing facility.
- Supervise and develop QA/QC employees to ensure work is performed according to established procedures and standards.
- Ensure product quality consistently meets customer specifications, company requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Maintain and improve food safety and quality management systems, including GMP, HACCP, BRC, SEDEX, ISO 9001, and ISO 22000.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and implement appropriate quality control measures throughout the production cycle.
- Manage internal audits, customer audits, certification audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Investigate product quality issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints using root-cause analysis.
- Develop and monitor corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurring quality issues.
- Conduct risk assessments and quality evaluations throughout the food supply chain.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and other departments to resolve quality and food safety concerns.
- Ensure quality documentation, specifications, procedures, and records are properly maintained and updated.
- Promote a strong quality and food safety culture throughout the organization.
