Mechatronics/Control System Engineer (R&D/Precision Engineering)

Our client is a global equipment company specializing in the design and development of high-precision capital equipment used in advanced manufacturing. They are seeking a System Engineer to join their Singapore R&D team to support machine development, system optimization and customer-specific engineering solutions.

The Role

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy troubleshooting complex machines, conducting experiments and working across multiple engineering disciplines to improve overall system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex equipment systems to improve performance, accuracy, stability, and productivity.
• Conduct experiments, testing, validation, and performance evaluations to identify improvement opportunities.
• Investigate technical issues using structured root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Motion Control, and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Define system requirements and support new product development initiatives.
• Support internal stakeholders and customer-focused projects on technical matters.
• Document, analyse, and present engineering findings and recommendations.

The Talent

• Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Work experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in R&D, systems engineering, machine development or related engineering functions
• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience with complex electro-mechanical equipment, automation systems or precision machinery
• Comfortable working in laboratory and machine testing environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
