Traffic Controllers

We are currently seeking qualified Traffic Controllers - TTM, TMO and STMS who hold a valid certificate in traffic management to join our client's teams in the Taranaki region. Responsibilities:

• Direct Traffic - efficiently and safely guiding vehicles and/or pedestrians using stop/slow signs, hand signals and other control devices around the work zones.
• Traffic Setup and Maintenance - Help install, maintain and remove traffic control systems which includes signage, cones and barriers.
• Communication- Use of two way radios confidently to stay in contact with the team, emergency services and other crews on site.
• Public and Site Safety- Monitoring of traffic conditions, identify/minimize risks and respond quicky to maintain a safe environment for all.
• Public Interaction- Courteously interacting with the public to explain traffic management plan to the drivers and/or pedestrians and handling queries as needed.

• Strong verbal and non verbal communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Attention to detail oriented.
• Good physical stamina as you will be working on your feet in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Able to follow instructions and deliver on them in line with safety protocols.

To be successful for the role:

• Must hold a valid TTM, TMO or STMS certificate or NZQA unit standard.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Clear MOJ and driving history.
• Must have the ability to be on call for casual work day/night shifts and weekends.
