Sales & Technical Support Manager

MainFeeds is looking for a commercially minded Sales & Technical Support Manager to join the team in Wiri. This is a customer-focused role combining agricultural knowledge, technical support and relationship management. You’ll work closely with existing customers across New Zealand and the Pacific, understanding their operations, helping solve challenges and providing practical feed and performance solutions.

About the role

• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
• Provide technical support and practical advice around animal nutrition and feed programmes
• Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate feed solutions
• Work closely with customers to help improve animal performance and outcomes
• Visit farms and customers across New Zealand
• Support customers across Pacific markets, with travel to destinations including Tahiti, Samoa and Tonga
• Work primarily from the South Auckland office, alongside regular customer visits

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop existing customer relationships across New Zealand and the Pacific
• Act as a key point of contact for customer enquiries, technical questions and complaints
• Understand customers’ farming operations and identify ways MainFeeds can support their performance
• Discuss feed options, pricing and expected performance outcomes with customers
• Provide practical technical advice and translate feed and nutrition information into easy-to-understand solutions
• Work with internal teams to develop feed solutions that meet individual customer requirements
• Support pricing and commercial discussions, understanding the relative value of different feed options
• Visit farms and customers to gain a strong understanding of their operations and requirements
• Travel internationally to support customers and develop relationships across Pacific markets

About you

We’re looking for someone with a genuine understanding of agriculture and animal production who enjoys working with customers and finding practical solutions.

• Experience in poultry, animal feed or the wider agricultural sector
• Good understanding of how feed and nutrition influence animal performance
• Experience in customer management, sales, account management or business development
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Commercially minded and comfortable discussing pricing and product options
• Able to understand technical information and turn it into practical advice
• Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused approach
• Comfortable visiting farms and travelling domestically and internationally
• A background in agriculture, animal science, veterinary science or a related field would be advantageous
• Poultry experience is preferred, although strong experience across other areas of animal production will also be considered
