Industrial Electrician

Zeagold is seeking an experienced Electrician to join its Southern operations based in Waikouaiti.

Your New Role:

As an Electrician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the electrical reliability of Zeagold's operations across farms, processing facilities, grading operations and feed milling sites. Working closely with the existing in-house Electrician, you will be responsible for electrical maintenance, installations, fault finding, automation systems and continuous improvement projects.

You will work across a diverse range of equipment and technologies, coordinating maintenance activities, supporting operational teams and engaging directly with technology suppliers to ensure systems perform reliably. This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise, problem-solving ability and proactive approach will make a direct impact on operational performance.

The role also offers an opportunity to develop broader knowledge of mechanical systems while contributing to knowledge transfer and succession planning within the business. Shared on-call and weekend responsibilities form part of the position.

What you'll need to succeed:

• EWRB Registered Electrician with a current Practising Licence

• NZ Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Theory and Practice) or equivalent qualification

• 5+ years' experience within industrial maintenance, FMCG, manufacturing, food processing or automated production environments

• Strong experience in electrical fault finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis

• Hands-on exposure to automated processing and control systems

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and control documentation

• Experience coordinating contractors and external service providers

• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships across operations, engineering teams, suppliers and contractors

• Confident communicator who can keep stakeholders informed, manage expectations and work effectively across multiple sites

• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

• Mechanical aptitude or an interest in developing wider maintenance capabilities would be highly advantageous
