Are you an organised HR professional who enjoys being the person who keeps things moving?

We’re looking for an HR Coordinator to join Hawk Services Group, a growing Kiwi business specialising in specialist maintenance and compliance services at height.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll sit at the heart of the business, supporting employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle - from recruitment and onboarding through to HR administration, compliance, systems and day-to-day employee support.

You won’t be managing a large HR team or sitting on the sidelines. This is a role for someone who likes to get things done, keep on top of the details, and be someone people can rely on.

Why Hawk Services Group?

Hawk Services Group is a business built around its people, with safety, excellence and innovation at the centre of how it operates.

This is a great opportunity to step into a role where your work will genuinely be noticed. You’ll have visibility across the business, work closely & supporting the COO and managers, and have the opportunity to improve how HR processes work as the Group continues to grow.

If you like variety, ownership and being the person everyone knows they can count on, this could be a great fit.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day HR coordination across the Group, including:

  • Coordinating recruitment, pre-employment checks, interviews, offers and candidate communication
  • Managing onboarding, employment changes, reviews and offboarding
  • Keeping employee records, HR systems and compliance information accurate and up to date
  • Coordinating payroll-related employee changes
  • Tracking licences, certifications, training, medical/ACC records, work rights and other employee requirements
  • Supporting immigration processes, including job checks and Accredited Employer requirements
  • Supporting managers with performance, conduct, absence and employee processes
  • Preparing documentation, meeting notes, trackers and correspondence
  • Being the first point of contact for routine HR queries from employees and managers
  • Supporting HR policies, procedures, templates and employee communications
  • Helping managers get the most out of the HR system and self-service processes
  • Coordinating Auckland office requirements, uniforms, devices, vehicles, access and other company assets
  • Looking for better ways to streamline processes, improve records and make HR administration easier

You’ll report directly to the COO, working closely with managers, payroll/accounts, H&S and employees across the business.

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to be a senior HR professional. We’re looking for someone who has a solid grounding in HR coordination, HR administration, recruitment or a similar people-focused role and is ready to take ownership.

You’ll probably describe yourself as:

  • Highly organised and someone who doesn't let things fall through the cracks
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Accurate and naturally detail-focused
  • Discreet and trustworthy when dealing with confidential information
  • Confident communicating with employees and managers at all levels
  • Practical, proactive and happy to roll up your sleeves
  • Comfortable working with systems, data and administration
  • Someone who follows things through rather than waiting to be asked

We’re particularly interested in someone who:

  • Has hands-on experience using Employment Hero, ideally the Platinum edition
  • Has experience working within an Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer environment, including submitting Job Checks and supporting the associated processes
  • Is comfortable working with a blue-collar workforce and understands the practical HR challenges that can come with a hands-on operational environment
  • Can build trusted relationships with managers and provide practical guidance on employment legislation, HR processes and best practice
  • Is confident helping upskill and support General Managers and Operations Managers so they understand their responsibilities and can manage people matters effectively
  • Has a good understanding of New Zealand employment administration, privacy and compliance requirements

This is a role where you’ll need to be comfortable balancing the detail of HR administration with the people side of the job. You’ll be trusted to know when something can be dealt with practically and when a matter needs further consideration or escalation.

Interested? Apply directly or email yyang@adecco.co.nz or call 021 675 498 for a confidential conversation.

Applicants must have New Zealand work rights.
