Contract Engineer

Are you an organised and proactive professional looking to build your career in civil infrastructure? Our client is seeking a Contract Engineer - Roadmarking to support the successful delivery of roadmarking operations across Southland.

Working closely with the Roadmarking Manager, this is a key coordination role that will see you acting as the link between field crews, clients, and management. You'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Previous experience in contract coordination, civil construction, infrastructure, road maintenance, or a similar environment.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• High attention to detail and strong administrative capability.
• A commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate resources, work programmes, traffic management requirements, and inventory to support efficient project delivery.
• Lead and support Southland-based operational crews, ensuring they have the tools, information, and resources required for success.
• Conduct site visits, network inspections, and quality, safety, and traffic management audits.
• Manage contract administration activities, including reporting, documentation, cost capture, and financial records.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
• Support health and safety initiatives while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across operational performance, productivity, quality, and customer service.
