Global Technology Senior DevOps Engineer

For a global professional services organization based in Kuala Lumpur, we are recruiting a Global Technology Senior DevOps Engineer to join the infrastructure and cloud engineering function. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions with a strong focus on Azure infrastructure and platform services covering data, networking, and applications. You will act as a primary technical liaison between business stakeholders, project teams, and developers/testers, ensuring that infrastructure designs align with business priorities and technical standards. The position requires both hands-on technical expertise and leadership capabilities to guide cross-functional teams and drive DevOps practices in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do?

• Manage and guide teams in designing, developing, and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions that meet complex business and technical requirements.
• Act as the primary technical liaison, bridging communication between business stakeholders, project teams, and developers/testers to align infrastructure designs with business goals.
• Provide strategic recommendations for business prioritization, roadmap planning, and ongoing product enhancements, focusing on efficient and adaptable cloud solutions.
• Architect efficient, secure, adaptable, and scalable Azure infrastructure and platform services covering data, networking, and applications for globally distributed systems.
• Champion DevOps practices to enable continuous delivery and resilient, self-healing systems while embedding security controls in all infrastructure designs with Cyber and Security teams.
• Develop proof-of-concepts to demonstrate feasibility of innovative ideas and infrastructure advancements, including adoption of new services across multiple workstreams.
• Promote and uphold Agile and Scrum methodologies in development processes while balancing infrastructure constraints with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Lead project deliverables across multiple workstreams, maintaining high standards of engineering discipline, quality, and consistency in solution delivery.
• Foster a culture of mentorship by supporting technical and professional growth within the team and encouraging knowledge sharing across functions.
• Maintain a positive and resilient attitude while navigating a fast-paced environment where infrastructure decisions impact thousands of users daily.

Your Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications relevant to the role.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience within Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), stateless distributed architectures, and designing for scalability and performance.
• Proven hands-on experience designing solutions using .Net, HTML5/CSS3, and WCF technologies with emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability for enterprise systems.
• At least 4 years of experience with Azure, with a proven record of designing and delivering high-volume, highly scalable, and performant solutions on large-scale globally distributed systems.
• Ability to champion DevOps practices, including continuous delivery and building resilient, self-healing systems, in collaboration with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
• Demonstrated creativity and ability to think outside-the-box while defining sound and practical infrastructure and cloud solutions that align with business needs.
• Strong desire to take initiative, moving projects and ideas forward with clarity, structure, and accountability in complex stakeholder environments.
• Adept negotiation skills for high-pressure situations, with the ability to influence business leaders, technology leaders, colleagues, and vendor representatives.
• Leadership skills to indirectly lead cross-functional teams towards common solutions while demonstrating integrity, awareness of strengths, differences, and personal impact.
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and reasoning skills, with a focus on relationship-building and effective collaboration with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
