Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sr Database Engineer to manage, maintain, and support enterprise database environments within the Service Build Engineering team. The role requires strong expertise in Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB, with responsibility for database administration, performance optimization, availability, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and post-build support. The ideal candidate should have strong SQL and Unix/Linux skills and be able to work effectively with application, infrastructure, and support teams.

Required Skills:

·      6+ years of experience in database administration/engineering.

·      Strong hands-on experience with Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB.

·      Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning.

·      Strong working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.

·      Experience with Sybase databases.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Administer and maintain Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB database environments.

·      Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.

·      Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.

·      Troubleshoot database issues and perform root-cause analysis.

·      Develop and optimize SQL queries and database performance.

·      Manage backup, recovery, and database maintenance activities.

·      Support high availability, disaster recovery, and database resilience initiatives.

·      Perform database changes in accordance with change management and operational procedures.

·      Work with application and infrastructure teams to resolve database-related issues.

·      Support post-build activities, deployments, and production database operations.

·      Maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

·      Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.
