Security Consulting Practitioner

• Lead end-to-end Microsoft Purview implementation activities aligned to Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, eDiscovery, and Audit.

• Implement sensitivity labels, label publishing, auto-labelling, DLP policies, Endpoint DLP controls, insider-risk policies, communication-compliance policies, retention controls, records management policies, eDiscovery cases, and audit requirements.

• Translate approved Purview architecture and detailed designs into configuration workbooks, implementation plans, build procedures, test cases, deployment activities, and technical documentation.

• Configure and validate Purview controls across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 applications, and supported endpoints.

• Lead configuration walkthroughs, technical testing, policy validation, defect resolution, implementation-evidence review, and deployment-readiness activities.

• Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Privacy, Identity, Endpoint, Messaging, SOC, IT Security, and client technology teams to manage prerequisites, dependencies, access, and implementation decisions.

• Maintain configuration records, test evidence, implementation trackers, RAID updates, policy inventories, technical runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials. Skills and experiences Required technical skills

• Strong hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Purview in enterprise security, compliance, data protection, or information-governance environments. • Hands-on knowledge of Purview Information Protection, sensitivity labels, auto-labelling, Data Loss Prevention, Endpoint DLP, Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, eDiscovery, and Audit.

• Ability to implement approved Purview designs across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 applications, and supported endpoints.

• Familiarity with built-in and custom Sensitive Information Types, Exact Data Match, trainable classifiers, retention controls, Purview role groups, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Defender XDR integration points.

• Strong understanding of Purview configuration, testing, policy simulation, phased enforcement, implementation evidence, technical documentation, and end-to-end delivery. Consulting and delivery skills Able to lead Microsoft Purview implementation activities and technical conversations with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Privacy, Identity, Endpoint, Messaging, SOC, IT Security, and client stakeholders. Strong ownership, clear technical communication, structured delivery management, and practical judgement when translating approved designs into tested, production-ready configurations.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

Desirable Microsoft certifications include: SC-401, SC-200, SC-100, SC-300, AZ-500. Preferred experience

• Experience leading end-to-end Microsoft Purview implementations in large enterprise or regulated environments.

• Exposure to Purview design handover, configuration, unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, pilot deployment, phased enforcement, and production rollout activities. • Experience implementing Information Protection, DLP, Endpoint DLP, Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, eDiscovery, and Audit capabilities.

• Experience leading technical implementation teams and coordinating with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Privacy, Identity, Endpoint, Messaging, SOC, IT Security, and client delivery teams is beneficial. 

• Experience leading end-to-end Microsoft Purview implementations in large enterprise or regulated environments.

• Exposure to Purview design handover, configuration, unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, pilot deployment, phased enforcement, and production rollout activities. • Experience implementing Information Protection, DLP, Endpoint DLP, Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, eDiscovery, and Audit capabilities.
