Retail Drafter | Retail Fit-Out & Mall Design

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support a large-scale retail rollout programme involving technical drawing production, tenancy planning, feasibility studies, landlord submissions, and fit-out documentation across multiple store locations. In this role, you will prepare and update AutoCAD drawings covering floor plans, layouts, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), elevations, sections, joinery details, construction details, signage, façade and MEP coordination drawings. You will also work closely with design teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers and mall management teams to incorporate technical comments and ensure drawing packages meet landlord and project requirements.

Job Summary

In this role, you will prepare and update AutoCAD drawings covering floor plans, layouts, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), elevations, sections, joinery details, construction details, signage, façade and MEP coordination drawings. You will also work closely with design teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers and mall management teams to incorporate technical comments and ensure drawing packages meet landlord and project requirements.

Technical Drafting & Documentation

• Prepare, update, and maintain AutoCAD drawings for retail projects.
• Ensure drawings comply with landlord submission requirements and company standards.
• Revise drawings based on comments from landlords, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain drawing registers and version control.
• Produce drawing packages including Feasibility Studies (FS), Tenancy Plans (TP), Floor Plans, Layout Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCP), MEP Coordination Drawings, Elevations, Sections, Joinery Details, Construction Details, and Signage and Façade Drawings.

Retail Design Coordination

• Support the Design Management team in delivering new store openings, refurbishments, relocations, and enhancement projects.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and mall management teams.
• Review and incorporate landlord comments and authority requirements into design documentation.
• Assist in obtaining design approvals and fit-out permits from mall landlords.

Submission Support

• Prepare drawing packages for landlord submissions and approvals.
• Incorporate landlord comments and approval requirements into revised drawings.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure required information is reflected accurately in submission packages.

Quality & Detail Management

• Conduct drawing reviews to ensure technical accuracy and completeness.
• Verify dimensions, layouts, and drawing details before issuance.
• Ensure documentation is organized and easily retrievable for project teams.

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting Technology, or Related Design Discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Retail Drafting, Interior Fit-Out Drafting, Architectural Drafting, or Retail Design Documentation.
• Experience within Shopping Mall Retail Projects, Retail Fit-Out and Refurbishment Projects, and F&B, Lifestyle, Fashion or Commercial Retail Brands.
• Experience managing landlord submission processes within Malaysian shopping malls is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with fast-track retail project delivery environments.

Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong technical drafting and construction detailing skills.
• Sound understanding of retail fit-out construction methods and materials.
• Ability to interpret architectural, interior design, MEP, and construction drawings.

Preferred

• SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Industry Experience
