Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior Java Payments Engineer (L3) to provide application maintenance and production support for payment applications within the Client Entitlement Workflow (CEW) and Payment Data Repository (PDR) ecosystem.

The role involves monitoring application health, troubleshooting production issues, resolving incidents, performing RCA, and supporting application enhancements for business-critical payment systems. The candidate will also gain hands-on experience with Java microservices and financial services technologies.

Required Skill Set

• 3+ years of experience in Java development, application maintenance, and production support.

• Strong hands-on experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.

• Good understanding of microservices, REST APIs, application debugging, and defect resolution.

• Strong experience working with Oracle databases and SQL troubleshooting.

• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux commands, application logs, and production troubleshooting.

• Experience providing L2/L3 application support and handling production incidents within SLAs.

• Strong ability to perform issue investigation, troubleshooting, RCA, and permanent defect resolution.

• Experience supporting application deployments, releases, and post-deployment validation.

• Knowledge of batch processing, file processing, data validation, and application integrations.

• Good understanding of incident, problem, and change-management processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle production-critical issues.

• Good communication and collaboration skills for working with development, infrastructure, business, and operations teams.

• Banking, financial services, or payments domain experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support Java/Spring Boot applications and microservices.

• Implement bug fixes, minor enhancements, technical changes, and application improvements.

• Provide L3 production support and ensure application stability and availability.

• Monitor application health and respond to production incidents within defined SLAs.

• Troubleshoot application, database, integration, batch, and system-related issues.

• Perform RCA for recurring production issues and implement permanent fixes.

• Work with Oracle SQL for data validation, troubleshooting, and resolving database-related issues.

• Support batch jobs, file processing, data validation, and application integrations.

• Support application deployments, releases, configuration changes, and post deployment validation.

• Analyze application logs and technical issues to identify and resolve production defects.

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, business, and operations teams for issue resolution.

• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles.

• Participate in incident, problem, change-management, on-call, and scheduled maintenance activities.

• Identify opportunities for application enhancements, automation, performance optimization, and operational improvements.
