About the Role

We are seeking a Data & Finance Support Engineer to provide Level 2 application and production support for banking finance, ETL, data warehouse, and reporting environments. The role focuses on supporting Informatica ETL processes, databases, batch scheduling, data flows, and finance-related applications across a 24x7 support environment.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in Unix/Linux, SQL databases, Informatica, Shell scripting, Control-M, and banking finance environments. Knowledge of General Ledger (GL), MAS, GST, regulatory reporting, business intelligence, and data warehouse processes will be highly advantageous.

Requirements

Experience & Background

• 3-5 years of experience in application development or production/application support, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.

• Strong experience in banking finance, ETL, data warehouse, finance applications, or reporting environments.

• Experience supporting AS400 environments.

• Ability to troubleshoot batch failures, data issues, application incidents, and production problems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root-cause analysis.

• Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call production support.

Finance Domain Knowledge

• Working knowledge of finance processes including General Ledger (GL), MAS, GST, regulatory reporting, and business intelligence.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with Oracle, MS SQL, and/or MySQL databases and strong SQL query skills.

• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.

• Strong experience with Shell scripting.

• Hands-on experience with Informatica ETL.

• Experience with Control-M or similar batch scheduling tools.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Big data: Hadoop / Cloudera, MapReduce / Spark, Kafka

• Big data ecosystem tools: Hive, Impala, HDFS, YARN, Sqoop, Oozie, HBase

• Data platforms and warehouses: Teradata

• Finance and regulatory systems: OneSumX, Hyperion, SAP GL, BASEL

• BI and analytics: SAS, OBIEE, Qlik Sense, Microsoft Power BI, Quantexa

• Campaign and middleware: Adobe Campaign, HCL Campaign, WebSphere, Ray

• Technical experience with server configuration and administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 application and production support for banking finance, ETL, data warehouse, and reporting applications.

• Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, ETL workflows, data processing, and production incidents.

• Perform incident investigation, root-cause analysis, problem resolution, and service recovery within agreed SLAs.

• Support Informatica ETL workflows and troubleshoot data extraction, transformation, and loading issues.

• Perform database queries, data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting using Oracle, MS SQL, and/or MySQL.

• Manage and troubleshoot batch scheduling processes using Control-M.

• Develop and maintain Shell scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational support.

• Work across Unix/Linux and Windows environments to investigate application and infrastructure-related issues.

• Support banking finance processes involving GL, MAS, GST, regulatory reporting, and business intelligence.

• Coordinate with development, infrastructure, database, vendor, and business teams to resolve production issues.

• Perform impact analysis and support deployment, release, and change-management activities.

• Prepare incident reports, technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-base articles.

• Participate in 24x7 on-call support and provide timely response to critical production incidents.

• Ensure adherence to banking technology, security, operational, and change-management standards.
