A European retailer with vast operations globally. They are now recruiting an experienced Product Manager - Lighting to join their team. A major player in the field of home improvement, DIY and household. They sell the best quality products at the most reasonable prices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in product management, sourcing or procurement
  • Higher education in a relevant field of Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Marketing in preferred
  • Industry-specific experience in DIY products, especially related to the European market is highly valuable
  • Good expertise in the following product groups: lighting, electrical installation, cable & accessories, batteries & torches, fans, aircons & heaters, decorative products, seasonal, home & living
  • Team player with excellent communication & presentation skills in English and Chinese
  • Good knowledge of the production & purchasing markets in Asia, familiar with European testing standards and product compliance
  • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and independently on projects

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assigned assortments within the category of electrical & lighting, which includes the following products such as electrical installation, cable & accessories, batteries & torches, aircons & heaters
  • Understand market trends and customer preferences in their product assortment and identify product opportunities
  • Choose new products, innovations and prepare the presentation to the customers. Work with country hubs on innovations and help the Category Manager with the presentation of the offers to the countries and European customers in a structured way
  • Negotiate terms of purchase, delivery, and payment with suppliers. Identifying and reducing risks in the supply chain
  • Responsible for optimizing packaging, shipping volume, and related measures to market the products sustainably in collaboration with the Sustainable Team
  • Arranging and follow-up on buying and sourcing trips before and after the visits for both individual and country buyers
