IT Director (Custody and Funds)

My client is a leading financial services organization specializing in Custody, Fund Administration, and Securities Services. With a strong focus on technology innovation and operational excellence, the organization supports institutional clients through robust, scalable, and secure technology platforms. The company is currently investing in strategic technology initiatives to enhance its custody and funds operations, improve automation, and support evolving industry standards including SWIFT, FIX, and ISO 20022.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap supporting Custody and Fund Administration platforms.
• Manage the design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical financial systems.
• Drive integration and modernization initiatives involving SWIFT, FIX, and ISO 20022 messaging standards.
• Oversee application development activities using Python, C#, or Java technologies.
• Lead ETL, data integration, and data migration projects across multiple systems and platforms.
• Manage and optimize enterprise databases using SQL technologies.
• Partner with business stakeholders, operations teams, and senior management to deliver technology solutions aligned with business needs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technology teams across development, support, and project delivery functions.
• Ensure system stability, performance, security, and regulatory compliance across all technology platforms.
• Manage technology vendors, third-party service providers, and strategic technology partnerships.
• Drive technology transformation initiatives, process automation, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Establish and maintain IT governance, development standards, risk controls, and disaster recovery procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8-10 years of IT experience within Financial Services.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Custody, Securities Services, Fund Administration, or Asset Management environments.
• Strong knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards (MT/MX).
• Experience working with FIX Protocol connectivity and integration.
• Familiarity with ISO 20022 standards and migration initiatives.
• Strong SQL and database management experience.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools, data integration, and data transformation frameworks.
• Programming experience in Python, C#, and/or Java.
• Proven experience leading technology teams and large-scale technology projects.
• Strong understanding of investment operations, trade processing, settlements, and fund administration workflows.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
