Data Centre Operator

Our client is a regional ICT solutions and systems integration provider specializing in enterprise network infrastructure, IT services, and technology support. They are looking for a hands-on data centre operator to support current data centre project.

Work Location: Candidates will be required to work at both Tsuen Wan and Tseung Kwan O sites, with location assignments rotated on a quarterly basis to support operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle incidents, troubleshoot technical issues, and escalate complex cases to senior team members or management when necessary.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare regular operational and asset management reports.
• Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to operational standards in all assigned tasks.
• Monitor the data centre environment, including cooling systems, humidity levels, and fire protection equipment, to ensure optimal operating conditions.
• Monitor systems and infrastructure to identify faults, performance issues, or service disruptions, and take corrective actions to maintain system availability and operational integrity.
• Perform basic operation and maintenance of computer systems, servers, and associated peripherals.
• Manage storage media, including hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), and backup tapes, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
• Support day-to-day data centre and IT operations to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery.

Requirements

• Diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred, but not mandatory.
• Experience in Data Centre Operations and Structured Cabling.
• Experience in data centre projects, including infrastructure deployment, migration, installation, or maintenance activities, is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with data centre environments, server hardware, network equipment, and IT infrastructure support.
• Experience within the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willing to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment and handle operational support responsibilities.
• Willing to work on shift duty by roster (2 schedule: 08:00 - 20: 00; 20:00 - 08:00)
