Data Centre Operator (Junior to Senior)

Our client is a well-established regional ICT solutions and systems integration provider, delivering enterprise network infrastructure, managed IT services, data centre solutions, and technical support to organizations across the region. They are currently seeking a hands-on Data Centre Operator to support ongoing data centre operations and infrastructure projects.

Work Location: Candidates will be required to work at both Tsuen Wan and Tseung Kwan O data centre sites. Site assignments will rotate on a quarterly basis to support operational requirements and business continuity needs.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents, perform troubleshooting, and escalate complex technical issues to appropriate support teams when required
• Maintain accurate asset inventory records and prepare operational, maintenance, and asset management reports
• Monitor and maintain the data centre environment, including power, cooling, humidity, and fire suppression systems, to ensure optimal operating conditions
• Perform day-to-day operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of servers, computer systems, and related equipment
• Manage and handle storage media, including HDDs, SSDs, backup tapes, and other removable media, ensuring proper tracking, security, and documentation
• Support data centre activities such as equipment installation, rack and stack, cabling, hardware replacement, and infrastructure maintenance
• Assist in implementing data centre projects, system migrations, and technology refresh activities as required
• Provide 24x7 operational support on a rotating shift basis to ensure continuous service availability and reliability

Requirements

• Diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, but not essential
• Hands-on experience in Data Centre Operations and Structured Cabling
• Proven experience supporting data centre projects, including infrastructure deployment, migration, installation, testing, and maintenance activities, is highly preferred
• Good understanding of data centre environments, server hardware, network devices, and IT infrastructure operations
• Prior experience in the banking or financial services sector will be an advantage
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with keen attention to detail
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
• Able to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment and support day-to-day operational activities

Willing to work on a rotating shift schedule, including:

• Day Shift: 08:00 - 20:00
• Night Shift: 20:00 - 08:00
