AI Engineering Lead

Our client is a well-known financial regulatory body in Hong Kong and is seeking an AI Engineering Lead to lead a team responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment of AI applications. The successful candidate will drive AI solution delivery, oversee the full development lifecycle, and ensure the implementation of robust, scalable, and compliant AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with business stakeholders to develop innovative AI application using various AI technology, e.g., RAG, workflow and AI agent.
• Bring the AI application from prototyping stage to production with proper evaluation and testing throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Develop services and integrate them with internal and external APIs / MCPs to power AI applications.
• Work closely with Data Scientists, Platform Engineers and Product Owners to deliver AI application in a continuous delivery environment.
• Keep pace with new technologies and promote them across the organization whenever appropriate.
• Mentor and lead a team of AI engineers, and manage the delivery timeline and scope of multiple AI projects.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science, software engineering, or related fields
• At least 6 years of experience in data science, software engineering or AI engineering
• Experience in delivery of RAG application or other AI application is a must
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team is a must.
• Experience in public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, AliCloud) and having any relevant certification is preferable.
• Experience in system design and software development lifecycle is a preferable.
• Experience with MLOps/LLMOps in a large scale enterprise environment is a preferable
• Experience in Web Application development is an advantage (e.g.: NextJs, React, Typescript)
• Experience in the following technology stack is preferable
  • Programming: Python, SQL
  • AI Orchestration: Langchain, LlamaIndex, etc.
  • Vector DB: Milvus, ElasticSearch, Qdrant, etc.
  • LLM: OpenAI, Deepseek, etc.
  • Data Engineering: Airflow, Spark
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes
  • CICD Suite: Jenkins, JIRA, Sonar, Git, Ansible
  • Test Framework: jMeter, jUnit, PyTest
• Experience in working in an international team, with solid grounding in financial service is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and data driven thinking capabilities
• Team management and problem-solving skills; self-motivated, creative, and with a proven track record in developing and driving firm-wide initiatives
• Ability to turn problem statements into clear feasible solutions that add business value.
