Chief Accountant / Accounting Supervisor

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting function of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations, while supporting management through accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of the accounting department
• Ensure accurate recording and monitoring of accounting transactions
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Prepare and review VAT declarations, tax obligations and MyData processes
• Perform reconciliations of customers, suppliers and bank accounts
• Coordinate and support the preparation of financial statements and statutory reporting
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory authorities
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting processes
• Ensure compliance with Greek Accounting Standards and tax legislation
• Provide financial reports and analysis to management
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls
• Lead and mentor the accounting team

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations and MyData requirements
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills
• Experience in financial reporting and month-end closing procedures
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Good command of the English language
