CEDEFOP – Event & Communications Assistant
Key Responsibilities
The interim agent will provide hands-on support for the delivery of the European Skills & VET Week flagship event and its associated communications campaign, contributing to every stage from planning and implementation through to reporting and evaluation.
Event Management
• Coordinate and implement event organisation from conceptualization through to delivery and impact assessment
• Manage communications with speakers, participants, contractors and partners
• Manage event registrations
• Coordinate logistics, briefing materials and event documentation
• Liaise with contractors and follow up on deliverables, ensuring quality and deadlines are met
• Support post-event reporting, impact assessment and lessons learned
Campaign & Communications
• Support the planning and delivery of the campaign editorial calendar, ensuring timely publication, consistent messaging and brand compliance across all communication channels
• Produce engaging, high-quality content for a range of communication products, including website news articles, newsletters, social media content, promotional teasers, infographics and other campaign materials as required
• Support the coordination of content production, review and publication with internal teams and external suppliers
Qualifications and competencies
• Post-secondary education attested by a diploma in marketing, communications sciences, journalism, event management or related fields relevant to the role
• At least 3 years of proven professional experience in fields relevant to the position
• Proven experience supporting the delivery of high-profile events and communication campaigns from planning through implementation
• Excellent written English (at least C1), with demonstrated experience in drafting, editing and adapting content for different audiences and communication channels
• Experience managing stakeholder communications and coordinating multiple contributors
• Experience using content management systems and digital communication tools
• Working knowledge of Canva or similar design tools for producing simple visual assets
Desirable
• Experience supporting EU-funded projects or European institutional communication activities
• Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools
• Interest in vocational education and training, skills policy or EU communications
