Supported Housing Officer

Full Time | £33,000 per annum (rising after 12 months) + Benefits

We are recruiting for two Supported Housing Officers to join a well-established supported housing provider in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced housing professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality support and housing management services to residents with a range of support needs.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide person-centred support, help residents develop independent living skills, and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

The Role

As a Supported Housing Officer, you will:

• Assess referrals and determine suitability for accommodation and support services.


• Conduct resident inductions and support individuals settling into their accommodation.


• Develop and deliver outcome-focused support plans tailored to residents' needs.


• Support residents to access welfare benefits, housing options, training, education and employment opportunities.


• Build positive and professional relationships with residents while managing challenging behaviours appropriately.


• Identify, assess and manage risks, ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are met.


• Liaise effectively with statutory agencies, support providers and other external partners.


• Help residents maximise their income through welfare benefits and housing benefit claims.


• Monitor, collect and manage rent and service charge payments, taking proactive action on arrears.


• Maintain accurate case records, reports and housing management documentation.


• Respond to resident concerns and complaints professionally and sensitively.


• Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming living environment.


• Participate in team meetings, handovers and service development activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience working within supported housing, homelessness, housing support, or a related environment.


• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals through structured support planning and goal setting.


• Knowledge of welfare benefits, including housing benefit and universal credit.


• Experience of managing rent arrears and maximising resident income.


• Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and housing management good practice.


• Ability to build positive working relationships with residents and partner agencies.


• Experience working with individuals who may present with complex needs or challenging behaviour.


• Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.


• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.


• Ability to produce accurate records and professional reports.


• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Information

• This is a full-time position working on a 7-day rota basis.


• Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
