AI integration into everyday work is a reality – and Swiss employees see it as an opportunity. 86% believe AI is creating new jobs, 90% say roles are evolving, and only 12% anticipate job losses. For HR, the message is clear: now is the time to actively shape the future of work. This article provides exclusive insights from the Global Workforce of the Future study and explains how organisations can turn these findings into practical action.

A group of colleagues is seated in a meeting room, engaged in a focused discussion.

The study shows Swiss employees are optimistic and more purpose-driven than the global average. 61% experience a strong sense of purpose every day – compared to 46% globally. This sense grows when employees are involved in shaping how their role changes with AI. For HR, involvement is not a “nice-to-have” but a strategic lever for retention. Organisations should create transparent communication formats and involve employees in redesigning processes.

The study also reveals a gap between perceived and actual productivity. Employees believe they save 117 minutes per day thanks to AI, yet only 42% can clearly measure the impact of their work. Time savings without clear goals do not automatically translate into value. HR should set clear expectations and KPIs for AI use. Equally important: use the freed-up time for learning, innovation and strategic projects. 42% of Swiss employees want to take greater control of their skills development – more than the global average (34%). This is an opportunity to embed skill development plans into HR strategy.

Trust is another critical factor. AI agent adoption is accelerating: 39% of Swiss employees expect integration within the next 12 months. However, the AI trust score is only 4.3 out of 10 – slightly below the global average. Transparency and participation are key to building trust. Organisations should clearly communicate how AI will be used and involve employees in designing new workflows. Currently, only 41% of Swiss companies do this – leaving room for improvement.

Key Takeaways for HR Professionals:

  1. Actively foster purpose: Involve employees in shaping role changes.
  2. Turn productivity into value: Define KPIs and use saved time for learning and innovation.
  3. Build trust in technology: Communicate transparently and encourage participation.

Act now, that is the premise

Swiss employees are ready for change and see AI primarily as an opportunity. For HR, this means fostering purpose, developing skills and building trust. Those who act now will secure productivity and attract the talent that makes the difference.
