Managing Director

Our client is an international company and one of Northern Europe's trusted manufacturing partners for advanced electronics and complete products. The company provides end-to-end manufacturing solutions, including PCBA production, box-build assembly, industrialization, testing, and after-sales services for customers across industrial, communication, medtech, greentech, and other technology-driven sectors. As part of a growing international group, the organization is committed to operational excellence, innovation, quality, and long-term customer partnerships. Currently we are looking for a General Manager / Executive Director to lead its manufacturing operations and drive sustainable business growth.

Position Overview

The General Manager / Executive Director will have overall responsibility for the strategic leadership and operational performance of the manufacturing site. The successful candidate will oversee all business functions, including production, engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, customer relations, and people management, while ensuring alignment with the organization's global objectives and standards.

The role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in manufacturing environments, proven business acumen, and the ability to build high-performing teams while maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and corporate stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute the site's strategic and operational plans in alignment with the Group's business objectives.
• Drive business growth, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead organizational transformation and support long-term business sustainability.

Operations & Manufacturing Management

• Oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production processes.
• Ensure achievement of production targets, quality standards, delivery performance, and productivity goals.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Monitor and optimize manufacturing KPIs, operational efficiency, and resource utilization.

Team Leadership & Organizational Management

• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary management team across production, engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, and HR.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
• Support talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

Corporate Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Provide regular reporting and performance updates to Group Executive Leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
• Prepare and present business reviews, operational reports, financial results, and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, policies, and reporting requirements.

Customer & Business Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
• Act as the senior point of contact for major client engagements and business discussions.
• Support business development activities and contribute to securing new business opportunities.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership development.

Financial & Commercial Management

• Manage site budgets, P&L performance, investment projects, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Drive profitability and support sustainable revenue growth.
• Oversee capital expenditure planning and resource allocation.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality management systems, environmental standards, and health & safety requirements.
• Maintain effective risk management processes and business continuity planning.
• Support audits, certifications, and compliance initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Electronics, Industrial Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience as General Manager, Plant Director, Managing Director, Executive Director, Operations Director, or similar executive-level position.
• Experience within electronics manufacturing, PCB production, semiconductor, EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services), or a related industry is highly preferred.
• Strong strategic thinking and business leadership capabilities.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, quality systems, and operational excellence methodologies.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and profitability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience reporting to international corporate headquarters and executive leadership teams.
• Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, international environment.
